SECTION 02 · WHY US

Four differentiators

01

Office Coffee Service partnerships

We work with several LA-area Office Coffee Service providers as their on-site service vendor for Newco-equipped accounts. The customer gets one bill from their OCS provider; we handle the service in the background.

02

NKLP simplicity

NKLP is the simplest commercial brewer we service. Most calls are descale or sprayhead clean — 1-hour visits. We do not pretend otherwise to inflate invoices.

03

Honest about Newco vs. alternatives

For office coffee programs, Newco NKLP is fine — simpler than Bunn CWTF, comparable cup quality, slightly lower acquisition. For restaurants doing 100+ cups/day, Bunn is the better operating decision; Newco is sized for office volume.

04

Scheduled office maintenance

Office Newco units fit into our routine office-rounds schedule. Most customers see us quarterly without booking individual calls.

Newco is the office-coffee and small-restaurant brewer that quietly serves LA corporate breakouts and convenience locations. Less common than Bunn or Curtis but well-built and easy to service. We see Newco mostly through OCS (office coffee service) provider partnerships and in small independent restaurants.

SECTION 03 · MODELS WE SERVICE

Newco line-up

M-01

NKLP (Single / Twin)

Office coffee staple. 1.5-gallon airpot output, programmable, simple controls. The most-installed Newco in LA office breakouts.

$1,400-$2,000 new
M-02

OCS-12 / OCS-15

Office Coffee Service line. 12 or 15 cup decanter brewers, lower acquisition cost. Office-bay and small restaurant use.

$700-$1,100 new
M-03

ACE (single-station automatic)

Automatic coffee equipment line. Compact, programmable. Convenience and small restaurant.

$1,200-$1,800 new
M-04

NK-DV (dual-voltage variants)

Dual-voltage variants of NKLP and OCS lines. Run on 120V or 120/208-240V. Common where electrical is non-standard.

M-05

FreshCup

Single-cup brewer line. Pod or filter-based. Less common in LA than Keurig-style alternatives.

M-06

Pre-2017 Newco (legacy)

Older NKLP and OCS variants from 2010-2016. Still in service across many LA offices. Mechanically simpler than current generation.

SECTION 04 · COMMON PROBLEMS

What goes wrong on a Newco

  • P-01

    Slow brew (= scale)

Same root cause as Bunn: scale buildup, not machine fault. Newco brewers are even simpler mechanically; descaling solves 9 out of 10 "slow brew" calls.

    $160-$240 (descale only)
  • P-02

    Sprayhead / shower disc clog

Newco sprayheads are simpler perforation patterns than Bunn or Curtis but still scale up over time. Clean or replace at 6-12 month intervals depending on water hardness.

    $80-$140
  • P-03

    Solenoid valve fault

Newco brew valves are mechanically robust. When they fail, it is usually mineral seizure rather than electrical fault. Bench clean or replace.

    $140-$240
  • P-04

    Heating element failure

Newco elements run 8-10 years under office volume. Less under restaurant volume. Replacement is straightforward; access is friendly.

    $240-$380
  • P-05

    Warmer plate failure

OCS-12 and OCS-15 lower warmer plates fail at 5-7 years. Inexpensive part, 20-minute swap. Most owners replace rather than repair.

    $95-$180
  • P-06

Airpot lid / faucet wear (NKLP)

NKLP airpot lids and faucets wear at the gasket. More an "airpot replenishment" item than a brewer service. Annual inspection during PM.

    $45-$120 per airpot
SECTION 04 · SERVICE TYPES

From emergency calls
to PM contracts.

S-01

Emergency Espresso Machine Repair

When your espresso machine goes down during morning rush, every hour of downtime is direct lost revenue. We dispatch same-day across LA, Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego, and Ventura for commercial accounts — one phone call, one technician, one bill. The diagnostic visit credits toward the repair when work proceeds the same day.

S-02

Preventive Maintenance Contracts

A PM contract converts unpredictable repair costs into a predictable annual line item. Quarterly visits cover descaling, group-seal inspection, sprayhead cleaning, milk-system deep clean, software firmware checks, refrigerant-system inspection on hospitality equipment (EPA Section 608 Universal certified), and operator-side training refreshers. Twelve years of PM-contract work across SoCal hospitality, restaurant, and corporate accounts. We standardize the schedule across your fleet — one vendor, one parts inventory, one billing cycle.

S-03

Espresso Machine & Coffee Brewer Repair

We repair commercial espresso machines, coffee brewers, and prosumer machines across 28 brands. Twelve-plus years working on every brand in our catalog. Diagnostic-first pricing means we tell you what is wrong and what it costs before any parts are ordered or work begins. The diagnostic charge ($145) credits toward the repair when work proceeds.

S-04

Espresso Machine Installation

New machine installations require plumbing, electrical, drain routing, water-filter setup, and on-site commissioning. We do all of it. Most LA cafe installs complete in a single 4-8 hour visit if the cabinet, electrical panel, and water supply are ready. We coordinate with general contractors when build-out is in progress.

S-05

Water Filtration for Espresso

Water quality is the single biggest variable affecting espresso machine service life and cup quality — more than machine brand, more than barista skill, more than bean choice. We consult, install, and service water filtration to the Specialty Coffee Association brewing standard across SoCal.

S-06

Used Espresso Machine Refurbishment

A 6-year-old commercial espresso machine on the used market is often a better buy than a new mid-tier machine — if it has been maintained and the price reflects its actual condition. We do refurbishment and resale prep for sellers, buy-side inspection for purchasers, and full restoration for heritage machines. The diagnostic-first workflow protects buyers and sellers equally.

SECTION 07 · FAQ

Frequently asked.

Q-01 How much does Newco service cost?
Single-issue visits run $135-$320 including labor. Descaling alone is $160-$240. PM contract on a single NKLP or OCS-12 is approximately $300-$500 per year.
Q-02 Are you Newco authorized?
We are an independent service provider. Newco runs an authorized network primarily through Office Coffee Service distribution; we are an independent on-site response option for LA-area customers.
Q-03 Should I choose Newco or Bunn for my office?
Honest answer: depends on the office. For offices under 50 cups/day with mostly drip-coffee menu: Newco NKLP saves $400-$600 vs. Bunn CWTF and pulls similar quality. For offices over 100 cups/day or with espresso machine added: Bunn for the better parts pipeline and longer service life.
Q-04 My Newco is brewing slowly. Is it broken?
Almost certainly scale buildup, not a broken machine. Try descaling first — the procedure is in the manual and Newco sells the descale solution. If descaling does not fix it, then call us. Pre-call descale clears 80% of "slow brew" service requests.
Q-05 How long do Newco brewers last?
NKLP runs 8-10 years in office service with annual descaling. OCS-12 and OCS-15 run 6-8 years — lower price tier, slightly shorter service life. Pre-2017 legacy units past 10 years are usually replacement candidates rather than repair candidates.
Q-06 Do you stock Newco parts on the truck?
We carry common items — sprayheads, solenoids, warmer plates. Less-common parts (boards, heating elements) we order through Newco distribution; dispatch is 2-4 days. Most calls close on the first visit.
SECTION 08 · CASE STUDY · HONEST OPINION
Recent job

Recent job: 6-year-old NKLP Twin at a Westside corporate office (~80 cups/day across two pots), reported "machine completely broken — won’t brew either side." Diagnosed: severe scale buildup blocking water flow on both sides simultaneously, plus one sprayhead 80% clogged. Descaled both tanks, replaced both sprayheads (cheap), tested through 6 cycles. Total: 1.75 hours, $185 parts and labor. The "broken" machine was a perfectly fine machine that had not been descaled in 4 years.

Honest opinion

Newco NKLP is the right answer for offices under 100 cups/day where the menu is drip coffee and nothing fancy. The extra $400-$600 to upgrade to Bunn CWTF gives you more durability and a better parts pipeline; below that volume threshold, the upgrade does not earn back the difference. We will say so even though it costs us nothing to upsell.
