SECTION 02 · WHY US

Four differentiators

01

We do not steer you to a new brewer

These machines are simple enough that most faults are worth repairing on a unit that owes you nothing. Where the sums genuinely favour replacement we will say so, but we do not sell equipment, so there is nothing in it for us either way.

02

Water first, parts second

Most Estella calls end at scale, a spray head or a probe. Diagnosing in that order rather than reaching for a board is why these jobs stay cheap.

03

Serviced with the rest of the kitchen

Sites running an Estella brewer alongside an espresso machine from someone else get both in one visit. One technician, one invoice, one interruption to service.

04

On site, out of hours

A brewer is not worth taking anywhere. We come to you, and for restaurants that means before opening rather than in the middle of a lunch rush.

Estella Caffe is the house brand of a foodservice supplier, which tells you most of what you need to know about it. These are value-tier brewers bought alongside the rest of a kitchen fit-out rather than chosen on their own merits, and they are mechanically simple: a tank, an element, a spray head, a valve. That simplicity is the reason they are worth fixing rather than binning, and it is also why almost every call we get on one turns out to be water rather than electronics.

SECTION 03 · MODELS WE SERVICE

Estella Caffe line-up

M-01

ECB-AP1 airpot brewer

Automatic airpot brewer, digital display, rated at roughly 60 cups an hour. 120V at 1450W on a standard plug, 3/8" water connection. Hot-water faucet on the front.

M-02

ECB-2D decanter brewer

Automatic brewer with two decanter warmers and a digital display, 120V. The break-room and diner standard.

M-03

Pourover and plumbed variants

The same brewers are sold with and without a water connection. Pourover units fail differently — the tank is filled by hand, so scale concentrates faster.

M-04

ECEM two-group espresso machines

Estella also sell a two-group automatic espresso machine on 220-240V. That is a bar machine, not a brewer, and it is quoted on the commercial bar tiers instead.

SECTION 04 · COMMON PROBLEMS

What goes wrong on a Estella Caffe

  • P-01

Brew temperature at the bottom of its own range

The ECB-AP1 is specified to brew between 190 and 200 degrees. The SCA brewing standard starts at 195. A unit drifting to the low end of its own spec is technically working and brewing under standard, and it tastes flat rather than broken. We measure at the basket and set it, rather than trusting the display.

    $150-$260
  • P-02

    Spray head partially blocked

Holes clog unevenly, so the bed gets wet unevenly and the extraction goes patchy before anything looks wrong. The tell is coffee that got weaker gradually and a spray pattern nobody has looked at.

    $150-$230
  • P-03

    Tank element scaled

Scale on the element insulates it, so recovery between batches lengthens and the operator starts brewing before the tank is up to temperature. On a pourover unit with no fresh-water flush this arrives sooner.

    $240-$380
  • P-04

    Inlet solenoid or level probe

On the plumbed units the tank refills on a probe and a solenoid. A dirty probe reads full when it is not; a lazy solenoid underfills. Both look like "the brewer is making less coffee" from the front.

    $180-$300
  • P-05

    Faucet and seal wear

Hot-water faucets and their seats harden and weep after a couple of years of daily use. It is a cheap part and an easy job, and it is the one operators live with for months because it only drips a little.

    $150-$225

COVERAGE · ESTELLA CAFFE

Where we service Estella Caffe.

Estella Caffe units mostly live on cafe bars and hospitality counters, so the dispatch pattern follows the commercial corridors: Estella Caffe repair in San Diego, Estella Caffe repair in Santa Monica, Estella Caffe repair in Inland Empire, Estella Caffe repair in DTLA, Estella Caffe repair in Los Angeles and Estella Caffe repair in Orange County. Same technician, same rates everywhere on the grid — 25 cities across five counties, same-day when the schedule allows.

SECTION 07 · FAQ

Frequently asked.

Q-01 How much does Estella Caffe brewer service cost?
A full service is the flat figure above, done on site. Individual faults are quoted per repair. Typical Estella work: spray head strip and clear $150-$230, tank descale with element inspection $240-$380, inlet solenoid or level probe $180-$300. Typical figures rather than quotes. What the repair costs depends on what we find. You get a written estimate before anything is done, and you can decline it — we bring the machine back and nothing further is owed.
Q-02 Is an Estella brewer worth repairing at all?
Usually yes, which surprises people who paid very little for it. There is not much inside one: a tank, an element, a probe, a solenoid, a spray head and a valve. Every one of those is a serviceable part. What kills these units is not being repaired, it is nobody descaling them for four years.
Q-03 Our coffee has gone weak but nothing looks broken.
Check the spray head before anything else. Holes block unevenly, so half the bed gets wetted properly and half does not, and the result is weak coffee from a machine that appears to work. The second thing to check is whether the tank is actually reaching temperature between batches.
Q-04 Do you service the Estella espresso machines too?
Yes, but they are a different job. The ECEM two-group units are bar machines on 220-240 volts and they price on the commercial bar tiers rather than the brewer one. Tell us which you have when you call and you will get the right figure the first time.
Q-05 Are you an authorised Estella service agent?
No. Estella is a supplier house brand and its parts come through that supply channel rather than a service network. We order from the same channel you would and we tell you when a part is going to set the timeline rather than us.
Q-06 How often should a brewer this size be descaled?
Annually on a plumbed unit in most of LA, and more often on a pourover one, because a hand-filled tank never gets a fresh-water flush. If the recovery time between batches has crept up, you are already overdue.
SECTION 08 · CASE STUDY · HONEST OPINION
Recent job

Representative job: ECB-AP1 in a Culver City office break room, staff complaining the coffee had "gone bad" over several months. Brew temperature measured at the basket at 189 degrees against a 190-200 specification and an SCA standard starting at 195. Element scaled, tank descaled, spray head stripped and cleared, temperature re-checked at the basket across two full batches. Total: on site, under two hours, $329 flat. Nothing was replaced.

Honest opinion

Nobody chooses one of these. It arrives with the kitchen order and then sits there for a decade. That is fine — it is a competent piece of equipment for what it costs — but it means no one ever bonded with it enough to maintain it. If your Estella has never been descaled and the coffee has quietly got worse, that is not the machine reaching the end of its life. That is the first service it has ever had, still waiting.
