Coffee & Espresso Machine Maintenance — We Pick It Up

Flat-rate servicing for home and commercial coffee equipment across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. You do not box anything and you do not drive anywhere.

Maintenance is flat-rate. You pick the tier that matches your machine, that is the price we quote, and there is no diagnostic fee on top — we already know what the job is. Our courier collects the machine from your address and brings it back when it is done. Turnaround is 3–5 business days.

SECTION 02 · INSTANT QUOTE · PRICE BEFORE CONTACT DETAILS

What will it cost?

Six questions, then your price. You see it before we ask for your name — no callback needed to find out what a service costs.

01 What kind of machine is it?
SECTION 03 · SCOPE

  • Display firmware and menu settings read out, recorded, and restored after service.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Jura compact $329
  • Brew unit removed through the service hatch, stripped, cleaned and re-greased.
  • Brew-unit seal kit and drive gear inspected; worn seals replaced.
  • Thermoblock and full water path descaled.
  • Milk system and the fine-foam frother disassembled and cleared; milk hose replaced if it has gone cloudy.

  • Internal cleaning and descaling counters cleared through the service menu.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Jura premium / office $499
  • Everything in the Jura compact service, on the larger dual-pump, dual-grinder platform.
  • Both grinders pulled, burrs inspected and cleaned, each grind step re-set independently.
  • Both pumps and both thermoblocks descaled and pressure-checked separately.
  • Milk system valves and the full milk line replaced where sanitising will not clear the residue.
  • Cup counter, cleaning counter and maintenance intervals read out and logged before reset.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Breville prosumer $249
  • Group gasket, shower screen and dispersion plate replaced.
  • Solenoid valve pulled and cleared — the usual cause of a group that will not release pressure.
  • Integrated grinder stripped: burrs out, chute and doser cleared of packed fines, upper burr re-indexed.
  • Full descale of boiler or boilers, thermocoil and steam path.
  • Steam wand and, on the Oracle, the auto-froth line stripped and cleared.
  • Brew temperature read at the group and offset corrected in the menu.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

E61 prosumer $429
  • E61 group stripped: cam, lever, springs and the three internal gaskets replaced, body cleaned and re-greased.
  • Group gasket and shower screen replaced; the mushroom pulled and the expansion valve checked.
  • Boiler drained, inspected through the fill port, and the anti-vacuum valve cleared.
  • Pump pressure set at the group and steam pressure set at the pressurestat or PID.
  • Every fitting on the water path re-torqued and checked under pressure.
  • HX or dual-boiler descale is priced separately because it is a drain, chemical soak, neutralise and multi-rinse cycle, not a flush.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Home-commercial, on-site $449
  • On-site: these machines are plumbed, and we do not disconnect a plumbed machine to carry it away.
  • Group gaskets and shower screens replaced; group bodies stripped and cleaned.
  • Both boilers checked, brew boiler descaled, element and probe inspected for scale.
  • Rotary or vibratory pump pressure set at the group; steam boiler pressure set at the controller.
  • Water filtration inspected at the inlet, cartridge age checked against throughput.
  • Brew temperature verified at the group with a portafilter gauge, not read off the display.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Commercial, on-site — 1 group from $749
  • On-site during your closed hours so the bar does not lose a service window.
  • Group stripped: gasket, screen, dispersion block and the group solenoid cleared.
  • Brew boiler descaled; steam boiler inspected, probe cleaned, autofill tested.
  • Pump, OPV and expansion valve set; steam pressure set at the pressurestat.
  • Drain line and drip tray cleared back to the floor drain.
  • Softener or filter status recorded against gallon throughput.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Commercial, on-site — 2 group from $1,049
  • Everything in the single-group service, run independently on each group.
  • Each group gets its own gasket, screen, solenoid clean and flow check — groups wear at different rates and are not serviced as a pair.
  • Boiler, autofill, probe and element inspected as one system once both groups are back together.
  • Both groups pressure- and temperature-verified separately before sign-off.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Commercial super-automatic, on-site from $899
  • Brew unit removed, stripped, seal kit replaced and re-greased to the manufacturer service interval.
  • Milk system broken down to the individual valves and lines — on these platforms biofilm sits in the valve bodies, not the tubing.
  • Full descale of the boiler group and every heated line.
  • Grinders pulled, burrs inspected against the manufacturer wear spec, grind and dose re-set.
  • Error log and service counters read out, recorded, then cleared.
  • Cleaning-cycle programming checked against how the site actually runs it.

3 control shots logged, 10-minute pressure leak check, service counters reset, water hardness set to the customer’s actual water.

Coffee brewers, on-site $329
  • Tank descaled and the element inspected for scale coverage.
  • Spray head pulled and every hole cleared; brew valve stripped and re-seated.
  • Inlet solenoid cleared, water level probe cleaned, refill timing checked.
  • Brew temperature and brew volume measured and set to spec.

Brew volume and brew temperature measured against spec and logged, tank and lines checked for leaks, filter status recorded against gallon throughput.

Grinder service $129 standalone / $89 add-on
  • Burrs pulled, measured against the wear spec, cleaned and re-seated — or quoted for replacement if they are past it.
  • Chute, doser and exit path cleared of packed fines and coffee oil.
  • Hopper and collar degreased.
  • Adjustment collar and stepless mechanism cleaned so the setting holds.
  • Grind re-set to a reference dose and time on your beans.

Grind re-set to a reference dose and time on your beans, output weight and consistency checked at three settings, burr wear measured and reported.

SECTION 04 · SURCHARGES

When the price
goes up.

Flat rates cover a machine in normal working condition. Heavy scale, a seized brew group, milk-line biofilm, or prior disassembly by someone else require additional labor. We photograph what we find, send you the price, and wait for your approval before continuing.

SECTION 05 · FLAT RATES

What the numbers
on this page are.

These are flat rates, not estimates. The price you see is the price you pay for a machine in normal working condition. The only additions are the situations listed above, and we photograph what we found and get your approval before any of them is added. Nothing is charged without your written approval.

SECTION 06 · WARRANTY

What we stand
behind.

90 days on labor and installed parts.

Not covered: water quality, missed cleaning, operating error.

Those three exclusions are not fine print, they are the three things that actually bring machines back. A descale we did in March does not survive nine months on 16-grain tap water, and a brew unit we cleaned and greased does not stay clean if the daily cleaning program never runs. If the water is the problem, we would rather fix that than service the same machine twice a year — that is a filtration conversation.

SECTION 07 · OUT OF SCOPE

Machines we
don't service.

  • Nespresso
  • Keurig
  • Smeg
  • Drip makers under $150

Capsule machines are sealed units built to be replaced, not opened — the labor to service one costs more than the machine. A drip maker under $150 is the same math. We would be taking your money to hand back something worth less than the bill.

SECTION 08 · COMMERCIAL

Running a bar
or an office?

This page is one-off flat-rate servicing. If you need recurring visits on a schedule, guaranteed dispatch windows and priority when something goes down mid-shift, that is a contract, and it lives on the preventive maintenance page. The commercial on-site tiers above are a single scheduled service, not an ongoing agreement.

If the machine is broken rather than due for service, start at repair instead — that path begins with a diagnostic, not a flat rate.

SECTION 09 · CASE STUDY · HONEST OPINION
Representative job

Representative job, not a specific customer. The numbers are our published rates. A Jura E8, roughly four years old, home use, two to three drinks a day, never serviced. Reported: coffee running cooler than it used to, milk foam thin, the brew unit sounding strained. A service on this machine is the Jura compact tier — $329 flat, pickup and return included. The brew unit comes out and is stripped, the o-ring and piston seal kit are replaced, the drain valve is rebuilt, the ceramic valve is cleaned and checked through every position, the thermoblock is descaled with two clear-water flush cycles, the milk circuit is stripped and resealed, the burrs are cleaned and the grind recalibrated, and the service counters are reset. About two hours on the bench; three to five business days from collection to return. What would move the price: if the inlet water tests hard for the neighbourhood, or the element carries visible scale, the descale runs long and that is quoted separately before the work continues.

Honest opinion

Most "my Jura is dying" calls are a brew unit that has never been opened. Seals are a wear item at four years, not a failure. The trap is the filter cartridge: JURA states that descaling is not necessary if you use a CLEARYL filter, which is true and is also why we open machines whose owners neither descaled nor changed the cartridge for years. Run a filter and change it on schedule, or skip the filter and set the machine to your actual water hardness and service it more often — but do not do neither. And the arithmetic cuts both ways: $329 on a four-year-old E8 is worth spending. The same $329 on a nine-year-old machine with a worn brew-unit drive gear usually is not, and we will tell you so rather than take the booking.

SECTION 10 · FAQ

Frequently asked.

Q-01 Is there a diagnostic fee on a maintenance job?
No. Maintenance is flat-rate — you book a tier, we quote that price, and there is no diagnostic charge on top. The diagnostic fee applies to repairs, where we do not know what failed until the machine is open. On a repair: $145 diagnostic — includes pickup from your address and return delivery. $60 is credited toward the repair when you approve an estimate of $200 or more.
Q-02 How long will my machine be gone?
Three to five business days from collection to return for anything we take to the shop. On-site tiers are a single visit, usually two to four hours depending on group count.
Q-03 What if the machine turns out to need more than a service?
We stop, photograph what we found, and send you the price before going further. Flat rates cover a machine in normal working condition; heavy scale, a seized brew group, milk-line biofilm or prior disassembly by someone else all require additional labor. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
Q-04 How often should this be done?
For a home machine on filtered water, once every 12 months. On unfiltered LA tap, every 8 to 9 months, because scale is what ends up killing the element. What drives scale is hardness, not TDS, and LA hardness depends on your neighbourhood: LADWP blends Eastern Sierra aqueduct water, Colorado River water through MWD, and San Fernando Valley groundwater in different proportions by area, so the tap runs roughly 7 to 16 grains per gallon — about 112 to 272 mg/L as calcium carbonate. Test your own tap rather than assuming a citywide number. Cafe machines run on a different schedule entirely and belong on a contract.
Q-05 Do you service commercial accounts on a contract?
Yes, but not through this page. Recurring commercial servicing, scheduled visit windows and priority dispatch live on our preventive maintenance page. This page is one-off flat-rate servicing.
Q-06 Is the price on this page what I actually pay?
Yes, for a machine in normal working condition — these are flat rates, not estimates. The only additions are the situations listed under "when the price goes up", and we photograph what we found and get your written approval before any of them is added.
