ECM (Espresso Coffee Machines) is the German prosumer brand that pairs with Profitec under shared ownership. The Synchronika dual-boiler is the cross-shop with Profitec Pro 700 and Rocket R58. ECM’s design language is more polished and visible than Profitec — stainless steel finishes, exposed boiler insulation panels, premium switches and gauges.

Diagnosed rotary pump bypass valve wear (typical at this age) plus a flattened group seal. Bench-rebuilt the pump bypass, replaced the seal and dispersion screen, recalibrated to 9-bar brew pressure. Total: 2.5 hours, $340 parts and labor. The Synchronika was pulling factory-spec shots the same afternoon.
ECM and Profitec under shared ownership produce mechanically near-identical machines. The visible aesthetic and brand-identity differences are real but the engineering is the same. We will tell prospective buyers this directly — pick the Synchronika or the Pro 700 by which one you want to look at every morning, not by some imagined performance advantage. Both are excellent.
