Which machine is yours?
One minute, no tools, nothing opened. Most machines that reach our bench with "it does nothing" have a switch, a tank or a knob in the wrong place, and the owner finds it faster than a courier does. Pick your machine; every step has a photo of where to put your hand.

Espresso machine
Breville, Rocket, Lelit, ECM, La Marzocco Linea Mini and every other machine with a handle. Ten checks: switches, outlet, tank, steam knob, portafilter, basket, gauge, wand.

Super-automatic
Jura, Saeco and Philips, De’Longhi, Miele, Gaggia. Eight checks: tank, float, brew group, drip tray, grounds container, grind dial, beans, the cycle you left half done.

Grinder
Mahlkönig, Mazzer, Eureka, Ditting, Fiorenzato, the grinder inside a Breville. Six checks: hopper lock, thermal reset, burr setting, the button, the switch on the back, a flat surface.
Just got your machine back from us?
The same three pages end with a short section called what changed. A repaired machine runs at the maker's settings, not the ones it had drifted to, and the first shots are different on purpose. Read that section before you touch the grind, and film anything that seems off before you adjust it. The labor warranty is 30 days from the return and a video gets an answer the same day.
