Typical call · how this fault usually goes
A typical call on a Bellissimo: the grinder light flashes red and brushing the burrs has not cleared it. On the bench the upper burr comes out and the rotor is freed. The cause is usually a pebble that came in with the beans, or fines packed solid behind the lower burr. The grinder is run empty and set back to its reference. The clean alert is on as well, so the machine gets its two-stage descale, about 30 minutes, before it is boxed. About an hour of bench time, and no part ordered.
Honest opinion
Two things get said about a machine like this, and both are wrong. One is that a $579 appliance is disposable and not worth opening. The other is that a good shop can fix anything. The truth is in GE’s own parts list. Most of what stops a Bellissimo in its first years is scale, a jammed grinder or a blocked wand, and none of that needs a part. A failed board or thermoblock does, and that part is not for sale. So repair the first kind without hesitating, and do not let anyone, us included, bill you for chasing the second.
